You’re not one of those couples that wants the surface level stuff. You’ve already tried the date nights and the gratitude journals. Maybe you have even read the John Gottman books. You’ve tried talking through some of the issues you have; but oh my gosh, they end in arguments, they end in blowups. And the disconnect is so huge. Maybe you also have some trauma that is haunting you, weighing you down. You have tried talk therapy before, but the abuse, the neglect, the environmental trauma, the childhood trauma, whatever the trauma is, it still feels like it is following you everywhere. You constantly feel like you are not enough. You feel less than, you are overperforming, and you feel like a shell of a human. You don’t remember the last time you felt carefree or at peace, and the anxiety is eating you whole.

Does this sound familiar?
-
You love each other but you’re tired of the same old fights that never seem to end.
-
You walk away from arguments feeling unheard, blamed, shut down, defensive.
-
You can't agree on some big things like: kids and family; time; sex; mess; or money.
-
Little things get blown up into big arguments.
-
You feel like if people knew the "real you" they would find you unlovable.
-
You keep picking the "wrong" ones to date and don't know why.
-
You can't seem to move beyond your past into the life you imagine.
Imagine if:
-
Instead of a blowup, it is just a conversation and you can hug and say you're sorry.
-
Repairs feel natural and the "roommate" feeling is gone.
-
You understand what each other wants and needs; you feel seen.
-
You’re feeling safe in your own body and you’re not hijacked by the past.
-
The anxiety is quiet; the triggers are less powerful.
-
You feel softhearted, grounded and strong.
Everyone's therapy journey is unique; experiences and outcomes may vary.
-
You're afraid of drifting so far apart you can't get back that loving feeling.
-
The arguments seem to go from 0 to 60 in seconds, and you can't make it stop.
-
You feel lonely and on guard.
-
You are sleeping on your own side of the bed, not knowing how to reach out.
It doesn't have to be that way. What if you could:
-
stop feeling like you need to tip toe around each other.
-
feel seen, heard, understood, start laughing together again.
-
work together as a team on the same side.
-
be able to help each other's dreams and projects come true.
-
feel like friends again.
Everyone's therapy journey is unique; results and outcomes may vary.

EMDR for
Trauma & Anxiety
Maybe you have tried talk therapy before but
you still feel stuck.
-
You can't shake the feeling that you are undeserving, unloveable, or "not enough".
-
You are over performing or hyper-vigilant, just trying to keep afloat.
-
You get triggered at work, full of shame, sweating, heart pounding.
-
You are avoiding closeness, scared of rejection.
-
You feel desperate for loving connection but not sure how to get there.
-
You don't know how to handle family or romantic relationships that feel negative, toxic, or draining.
You are hoping things start to change.
You are hoping that:
-
The trauma does not haunt you and fades into the background.
-
You feel safe in your body.
-
You have healthy relationships and end toxic ones.
-
The distressing thoughts and images ease up, and you enjoy the present moment again.
Why work with me?
-
What you have been though is not too much for me to handle.

About EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a profound and evidence-based treatment for trauma, that can release stored trauma from neural networks of the brain. In attachment based EMDR, we work slowly and always at the pace of the client so you feel safe and are not re-traumatized. You do not need to relive traumas to recover from them.
Everyone's therapy journey is unique; results and outcomes may vary.

About Me
I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, with an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Saint Paul University. I am committed to continuing education in the field of therapy in order to best help clients find relief and positive outcomes. On weekends you will find me hiking, or trying out new recipes (not always being successful at it).
Clients I work best with are couples ready to do the deeper work and practice strategies outside session; and individuals looking to let go of trauma who may have tried talk therapy and want real change.
